Most of our participants access funding through their local council. Here is how the process typically works.
Get in touch with your local Adult Social Care team to start the process.
A social worker will carry out a needs assessment to understand the support required.
A panel reviews the assessment and decides how many funded days per week are allocated.
Funding can be received as Direct Payments (you manage the budget) or council-managed payments directly to the provider.
Education, Health and Care Plan funding may contribute towards the cost of support for eligible individuals.
Personal Independence Payment (PIP) does not directly pay for care services, but may help with related costs.
Councils set a contribution rate based on the individual's income. We can help you understand your options.
We would love to hear from you. Whether you are a parent, carer or professional, get in touch to find out how Step Together can support your loved one.
